Premier League
Jermain Defoe (Tottenham). Could it be anyone else? The first Premiership player in ten years - since Alan Shearer - to hit five in one match. His goals in the 9-1 rout of Wigan also made him only the third player to hit five in one Premier League match, the other being Man United's Andy Cole.
Championship
Jermome Thomas (West Brom). The star of one of our magazine features this month is also bang on form for the Baggies. He scored and created in the 4-1 defeat of Bristol City.
Leagues 1 & 2
League One: Neil Kilkenny (Leeds United). A five star all round performance and a last minute goal in the 3-0 victory at Brighton which kept United top of the table.
League Two: Scott Donnelly (Aldershot). Cleared off the line and battled hard as Shots got a goal-less draw at Notts County.
