Liverpool sign defender

Rangers defender Danny Wilson is set to join the Roy Hodgson revolution at Anfield.

The 18-year-old SFA Young Player of the Season has been on Liverpool's radar for months and now looks set to join Joe Cole and agree a deal with the Reds.

Wilson has undergone a medical on a deal that will initially net the Scottish champions £2m, with a further £3m likely to follow depending on progress and appearances.

He is the third new face to arrive at Liverpool this summer after Cole and Milan Jovanovic.

The club will be hoping that the influx of newcomers will persuade Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres that their futures are at Anfield.
