Burnley have reportedly had a £3m bid rejected for Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The Clarets have been left frustrated in their attempts to sign the former Arsenal man after meeting the 24-year-old’s buy-out clause, only to find out it applies to Premier League clubs.

Lansbury, who left the Emirates for Forest back in 2012, scored 11 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions last season for Dougie Freedman’s side.

With Forest unable to buy players in the next two transfer windows after breaching Financial Fair Play rules, boss Freedman is reportedly open to the idea of a swap-plus-cash deal for Lansbury as long as Burnley striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is part of the deal.
