Why the hell would Vidal want to go to United? And even more, why on earth would Juventus accept such a ridiculous bid?

Hi Peter, Thanks for the response. I agree that a lot of Magath's choices have been strange and he has tended to waste substitutions at times. Also yes I did read yesterday that Tankovic is off which is a shame. I think a lot of the senior guys will go and we are lucky to be able to fall back on a good crop of youngsters. The thing with Magath is he isn't the ideal for us and Rene would probably have been a better option in the Championship. However there are also a lot worse candidates out there that makes me glad we still have Felix. I think he will stabilise us and oversee a transition. He will likely be sacked for "underachieving" when we are 8th/9th and I reckon a new face will come in to push us into the promotion places. I am only basing this on what I think will happen. Also despite Magath saying he is here for the long term, all of his decisions naturally had to be short term because of the situation we found ourselves in. Hopefully now he has some time he can build something of his own rather than trying to patch together someone else's team.

Hi Chris, Everybody is pointing at the promise of our youthful players (and rightly so), but I would be more optimistic of our future if it wasn't for Magath's bizarre team selections in the final run in, and my lack of faith in him. When I saw the team selection against Stoke I new we would lose. Likewise some of his substitions have been puzzling. His treatment of Holtby, who under Rene M was probably our best player certainly providing commitment and much need creativity, lead him to become less and less effective as the season went on. Other than the young players there are not many of the squad that I would keep. Be interesting who is around for next season. Incidentally hasn't Tankovic, who I thought looked very promising, indicated he is leaving. I'd be much more optimistic for the furture if Magath isn't around, though it seems he will be. Peter

Not one single french player has ever made it at Liverpool and those who are bi-nationals and immigrants in France are pretentious when they actually succeed, because they are criticised untill then. A change of heart is therefore easy for these people and that is counterproductive to fighting spirit. Unless you get a real french like Cantona, forget about it. John
